Get to know us.

Kanabec Systems is a locally owned and operated technology service and consulting firm serving the Mora area and beyond. Because we aren't a big company (or a part of one), you can rest assured that we'll be right here tomorrow - just like we have been for the past decade.

You'll be able to work with the same person throughout the entire process of doing business with us, and you'll able to call that same person any time in the future if you have questions. No one else can offer the level of personal service that we do.

Isn't it time you tried Kanabec Systems? Give us a call or email us to find out more.

How to Call Us: Just dial (877) 679-5575. When you call, you may choose to speak with someone or to leave a message, which also pages us if we're out.

How to E-mail Us: Send your message to info@kanabecsystems.com. Be sure to include the word "ThisIsNotSpam" in the subject of your message. Since we get hundreds of unsolicited emails each day, it's crucial that you include the word "ThisIsNotSpam" in the subject - otherwise your message is likely to be eaten by our spam filter, and will never be seen by anyone.

How to Find Us: Our new location is at 1462 Highway 65, five miles south of Mora (or just north of the Groundhouse River).

We're on the east side of the road; look for the big tan building with the green roof. See the map.

The new office has lots of parking out front. Be sure to enter through the main door, located under the log entryway.

Where We Operate: Although we are free to serve customers from just about anywhere, we tend to do most of our business within the area shown on the map below (it's what we consider our "primary service area", especially for on-site work).

If you're located within the highlight, there's no doubt - Kanabec Systems is your local technology problem solver.

Depending on your situation, we can - and often do - work outside of the highlighted area. We've frequently worked in places like North Branch, Grantsburg, and Osceola to the east; Forest Lake, Blaine, and even first-ring suburbs like Roseville to the south; Milaca, Princeton, and Onamia to the west; and even up towards Brainerd and Cloquet on occasion. Carry-in customers sometimes come from even farther... or by shipping their equipment in some cases!

Pronunciation Guide: Lots of people have a tough time saying our company's first name and our owner's last name. So, for your reference, here's how to pronounce them properly:

A Little Background: When we say us and we, it really means myself and the company (old habit). You know who the company is, but who am I?

That would be me, Keith Thelen, the owner and proprietor here at Kanabec Systems. I've been "hacking" on computers (in the 'creating, tinkering and problem solving' sense, that is - anything else would be properly referred to as cracking) since grade school, and started out in the repair business a decade ago with a bunch of old machines and a bench in the garage.

Since then, I've worked my way up to doing repair and consulting full-time here at my shop in downtown Mora. My customers range from individuals and home users to small businesses and mid-sized companies, so there's always something new to work on (which is what I really like about my job).

Besides working with computers, I've taken lots of short trips into various other fields as a consultant, a volunteer, or just a curious helper. I've served as the editor of a small news-magazine, been a layout editor and graphics designer, and worked many positions in broadcast-related projects (from announcing to engineering). I have also worked on a number of wireless communications projects (two-way, paging, microwave, etc.), and got to try my hand at working on a few large telephone systems.

Some say I'm a die-hard tech nut, or even a computer geek. But I believe there are few things that can compare to the thrill of learning, of creating something that works - it's one of the things that keep me going, and something I'll never grow tired of pursuing.

I've had lots of great experiences, and look forward to many more in the years to come. If you still want to know more, you can read up on where I've been and what I've been up to in the Customer Showcase and Awards sections.
